Neil Reid (Chairman)
Neil has had management roles with New Zealand Express, Freightways and the Newman’s Group which was sold to Transpac in 1987. When it went into receivership Mr Reid with others bought the freight division and renamed it TNL Freight. As Managing Director from 1989 to 2007 he built the company into a customised road transport, contract warehousing and international freight and customs operation.
Active in the Invercargill NZRTA branch in the 1970s, Neil was chairman in 1976. He became vice-president of NZRTA Region 4 in 2008.
Warren is a previous long-serving Forum Board member having been NZRTA Region 5’s representative from 1998 and Forum Chairman between 2002 and 2006. Mr Hamilton’s family in Dunedin was involved in trucking and, after a stint with a Central Otago farm supply company, he moved into management then bought into another Cromwell trucking company. The outright owner from 1998 he sold the business but has kept active in the industry with a morning Cromwell-Wanaka courier run.
Warren has been involved with associations since the late 1970s and became a member of the Otago-Southland RTA executive when it was set up in the late 1980s. He was association president between 1995 and 1997.
Ken worked in the contracting fuel industry for 26 years before buying a container transport and swing lift company with a business partner in 2002. He now manages the facilities maintenance contracts within the Selwyn District for SICON Ltd.
Ken has been involved with the New Zealand Trucking Association since 2003 and a member of its board since 2006. He was vice president of the Association for two years and has been the New Zealand Trucking Association’s director on the Forum Board since 2008.
Glenn comes from a trucking family and, after a stint at university and as a driver, started his own stock transport company in 1997. It has grown into a seven-truck fleet specialising in livestock transport around the country.
Initially an Auckland Owner Carriers Association member, Mr Carroll joined the Manawatu branch of the Central Area Road Transport Association. He has been vice-president and
CARTA’s owner-driver representative before becoming a Forum director in 2009.
Greg joined the road freight industry as an owner driver 35 years ago. In 2000 the family-owned company grew into a fleet operator with a contract with Gull Petroleum. Tranzliquid now operates a fleet of tankers delivering fuel or fuel-related products mainly in the North Island servicing all oil companies.
Steve owns and manages RJ Doughty Ltd. Based in Auckland it operates a fleet specialising in bulk haulage in the greater Waikato and Auckland areas.
Mr Doughty was elected to the Forum Board in 2002 and was Chairman between 2006 and 2009. He was Vice Chairman of National Road Carriers from 2000 to 2002 and President from 2002 to 2005.
Calven bought the family firm, LW Bonney and Sons, in 1984. It specialises in bulk haulage of commodities and liquids as well as offering general freight, container cartage and storage, bulk tipping and storage and warehousing services.
Mr Bonney was a founder of the Forum and has been a board member since its inception. He was the Forum Chairman from 2000 to 2002. He has been on the executive committee of National Road Carriers since 1974 and is a past president.
Since a teenager, Tony has been involved in road transport. Over the last 25 years, he had a number of management roles with NZL Group, finally that of CEO. In 2006 he was part of a successful management buy-out of the company. More recently he has been self employed in a consultative role to the industry, while looking for the next challenge.
Tony has been involved in RTA Region 2 for a number of years.
